Tommy Fleming Announces Irish Band and ‘Emerald IsleQuartet’
for Australian Tour
Irish singing sensation TOMMY FLEMING has
confirmed his upcoming national Australian tour will also include the Emerald
Isle String Quartet plus Tommy’s Irish band who will travel from Ireland
to share the stage with him.
Having already wowed Australian audiences in 2009,
Fleming’s October tour will showcase the best Ireland
has to offer. Tommy’s band includes the best Irish musicians who will
ensure the music of Fleming’s native homeland will be as authentic as the
singer himself.
The addition of the Emerald Isle String Quartet will
further enhance the music of the 32 Platinum Album awarded artist.
Unquestionably one of Ireland’s
most successful entertainers, TOMMY FLEMING is known for not only his
powerhouse voice but also his quick wit and humour. His 2009 sell-out tour
acquired the singer a legion of new fans and cemented his name with those who
saw him.
Tommy Fleming is touring nationally in 2010. Tour
dates are set with tickets now on sale and selling fast.
Due to a serious back injury, Tommy will unfortunately
have to cancel all engagements for the next two weeks. He will be undergoing
major back surgery over the coming days. The appearance in Moyvane which was due
to take place on the 9th July, will now take place on the 6th
of August. Tommy sends apologies to all affected by this unfortunate occurrence.
The prognosis at the moment is that Tommy will be travelling to Cleveland and fulfilling
all engagements from then on. We will keep you updated with any further
developments.
Following the recent cancelled concert dates in the UK due to the
Icelandic volcanic ash cloud, we are delighted to announce the dates have now
been re-scheduled. All the new dates and contact details for tickets can be
found on the “concert dates” page.
Some
of Tommy's fans in Tasmania have started a
petition for Tommy to play in Tasmania on his
next tour in Australia
in October 2010. Please see the letter below, including the link to sign the
petition, if you would like the opportunity to see Tommy perform in Tasmania.
As you are probably aware Irish singer Tommy Fleming is touring Australia later
this year, and as yet there is no Tasmanian date included. Tommy has a good fan
base here in Tasmania
due to his concerts being broadcast by Ovation channel.
Many of these fans would dearly love to see Tommy in concert and not everyone
is able to make a trip interstate, We have created a petition for anyone who is
interested to sign in the hope Tommy's promoters will consider a Tasmanian tour
date. It would be good for any Tasmanians reading this to sign the petition to
let promoters know that Tassie deserves to be included in the touring itinerary.
Due to Flight Cancellations in both the
UK and Ireland, concerts in Manchester and Birmingham
have had to be regrettably cancelled. They will be re-scheduled at a later date.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the concert to take
place in the Jazz Café in London
on Wednesday, 14th April has been postponed. We hope to have further
updates shortly with the new details. Apologies for any inconvenience caused
and hope to see you on the re-scheduled date.
The
long awaited Australian Tour Dates have been announced and are currently
on-sale. Tommy is really looking forward to heading bank down under and meeting
all of his Aussie fans following a very successful tour in 2009. All of the
venues and dates are now on the concert page of the website along with the
contact details needed to get your ticket.
Tommy released his latest DVD to coincide with the
release of his latest Album “Song for a Winter’s Night" on Friday 4th
December 2009. The DVD of the same title was recorded live in Belleek Castle,
Ballina, Co. Mayo in a unique intimate setting with an invited audience of
family and friends. The DVD features 20 tracks including many Christmas songs
from the album "Song for a Winter Night", along with some of Tommy's
favorites including "The Orchard", "Wait ‘till the Clouds roll by",
"Old Clothes" and many more.
