TOMMY FLEMING ‘THE VOICE OF IRELAND’ TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM BEGIN ON 5TH APRIL AND TOURING AUSTRALIA IN MAY 2013

“That voice is truly an instrument of passion.” Bishop Desmond Tu Tu

“The best version of Danny Boy – bar none.” Eric Clapton

“That’s one hard act to follow! I Hope he doesn’t take up acting.” Liam Neeson

Tommy Fleming has many times been described as ‘The Voice of Ireland’; he is one of their top entertainers whose hugely successful career spans 20 years and 32 platinum albums.  Tommy has already brought his mesmerizing voice to audiences around the world, performing in such prestigious venues such as New York’s Carnegie Hall. Tommy Fleming returns to Australia in May to celebrate the release of his first new album in six years, BEGIN, out 5 April, and to tour Australia for the third time.

“I love coming to Australia. I can’t wait to return because I love the people and the easy going way they live their lives and of course the weather” he says, “It really feels like my home away from home.”

News of Tommy’s new album and his third Australian tour is sure to delight his legion of Aussie fans and reinstate his reputation of drawing capacity crowds during his previous Australian tours.

2012 was a year Tommy Fleming describes as the toughest year of his and his family’s life. In March 2012 he suffered a huge blow with the loss of both his parents when they unexpectedly passed away within hours of each other. In the months that followed Tommy took a long break from his career and evaluated his life, his music and what steps he now needed to take, and now he returns to his more traditional folk roots releasing a collection of emotional heart wrenching songs to make up his new album BEGIN.

The album, which Tommy describes as the most cathartic work he has ever done, is a collection of 15 songs inspired by the influences he has received throughout his career and is a personal tribute to his beloved mother and father.  Tommy admits that recording and working on the album helped him come to terms with the death of his parents and gave him the strength to BEGIN again.

The new album BEGIN is accompanied by a bonus DVD an in depth documentary "Behind the Voice" chronicling Tommy's life in music, with a rare glimpse into the personality behind the performer.

Release date: 5 April 2013

A Tommy Fleming concert is a musical experience not to be missed. He has a universal appeal to all ages and backgrounds with a fan base that is growing stronger worldwide year by year.

Cleveland
Hi all.
Just want to let anybody in the US know that I am sorry to say I won't be attending this years Cleveland Irish Festival. I discussed the options with my good friend John O'Brien and he thought it might be good to give it a miss this year, I guess after 10 years it's good for a change.
Hope this doesn't cause any of you that had planned to travel to Cleveland this year any problems.
Sorry again and who knows we might be back next year.
Chat soon.

Apology from Wexford Opera House

On behalf of Wexford Opera House, I would like to sincerely apologise for the cold conditions you experienced on Saturday night while attending the Tommy Fleming concert.

This was due to an unexpected and undetected fault with our heating system.

As far as our Technical Manager was aware, the readings from the system displayed that the heating was on, and was set to the maximum temperature.

Once we realised there was an issue with the system, our Technical Manager, unable to solve the problem in-house, then had to log the fault with our maintenance contractor. An engineer was later able to confirm that there was a fault with one of the sensors, which has since been replaced.

To compound the situation, this unexpected problem with our heating system coincided with the fact that Saturday night was one of the coldness nights in quite some time.

Keith Barry performed here on the following night to a near full-house, and we didn't receive any complaints, as the heating system, although still not fully functional, provided adequate heat given the weather conditions that night.

I do hope you decide to return to Wexford Opera House for future events, where we pride ourselves in offering our patrons with a comfortable and enjoyable performance space.

Apologises again and best wishes.

Aisling
